We have just started construction of a new 27-metre Continental Two motoryacht. Designed by Guido de Groot, with naval architecture from Jarin Ginton, this exciting new vessel has been ordered by a highly experienced yachtsman with very precise and demanding requirements. The owner was convinced to choose for Van der Valk by our excellent track record in meeting exacting briefs.
The yacht will feature an all-aluminium, round-bilged fast displacement hull and a moulded beam without rubbing strakes. In a departure from tradition, a bulb on the submerged section will extend the waterline and boost performance. Another divergence from previous Continental Twos will be tender storage on the huge bathing platform, not the flybridge, which will instead feature a groovy leisure zone. The foredeck will provide another handy social and sunbathing space, while the large lazarette houses diving gear and lots of toys.
The interior will be exceptionally spacious thanks to the 6.72-metre beam. It will include plenty of lounging space, with accommodations consisting of an owners’ suite, a VIP suite and two guest cabins, as well as a double crew cabin.
As the first aluminium yacht in the entire world to be equipped with MAN 1900 V12 engines, this Continental Two will have an impressive maximum capacity of 1900 hp at 2300 rpm. Another highlight will be state-of-the-art roll stabilization in the form of a VG120 gyro stabilizer by VEEM. Naturally, she will have Lloyd’s plan approval and full MCA C2 certification. The yacht is slated for delivery in the spring of 2017. Stay peeled for more information.
